Early this morning December 3rd around 3:30am, our University Place deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress to a Walgreens located at the 2600 block of Bridgeport Way West. As deputies came into the area, witnesses reported the truck (a stolen truck), and three suspects had taken off dragging an ATM behind it heading westbound on 27th Street West.
One of the deputies did an area check and located a second suspect truck involved in a neighborhood as the suspects were attempting to recover the ATM that had broken from the chain of the first suspect truck. They immediately take off, leaving the ATM behind.
Unfortunately, the truck was able to escape and was later located unoccupied in Tacoma. This was a coordinated ATM burglary with multiple vehicles and suspects involved.
We would love to get any tips from the community on who these suspects are or the trucks involved. Thousands of dollars of damage were done to the store, and we want to ensure they don’t do something like this again.
