On March 15th, around 2:30 am, deputies contacted two suspects in a freshly stolen vehicle off Golden Given Rd. The male driver was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, and a female passenger had fled with a cat. After a few minutes of searching for the female, she was located hiding underneath a pickup truck. The 29-year-old male driver was arrested for eluding, resisting arrest, theft of a motor vehicle, driving while license was suspended, and multiple felony warrants. The 23-year-old passenger was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and other misdemeanor warrants.
The cat was uninjured and taken to a local animal hospital, where Animal Control later picked it up and turned it over to the Tacoma Humane Society.
