#1 Animal Abuse Case
On October 17, Pierce County Animal Control received a report, including Ring Camera evidence, of a male individual abusing a dog. On October 18, Animal Control obtained a warrant and seized the dog from its owner. The dog was taken to a local veterinarian, where no major injuries were found. The dog was placed in the custody of the Humane Society until the owner posts bond and the case is reviewed by a judge. No arrests have been made at this time.
#2 DUI Hit and Run
On October 19 at approximately 8:00 p.m., multiple callers reported a suspected intoxicated 25-year-old female driver and a 32-year-old male passenger had collided with two fences and were attempting to leave the scene. The vehicle was immobilized, preventing them from fleeing. A responding sergeant took the female into custody as she attempted to walk away. During the arrest, the male passenger attempted to interfere and was also taken into custody. Open containers of alcohol were observed in the vehicle. The female was booked into Pierce County Jail for DUI, two counts of hit and run, and obstruction. The male was booked for obstruction.
