Aggravated Assault
10400 blk Canyon Rd E, Summit

A loss prevention officer was working at a farm supply store when he noticed three people who were shoplifting. He followed them around the store for about 45 minutes and then watched as they put the items back and exited the store. He went outside and took a photo of the suspects and their car. After he took the photo, one of the suspects pointed a gun at him and threatened to shoot him. The loss prevention officer backed away and the vehicle sped towards the freeway.

13800 blk Pacific Ave S, Parkland

A patrol deputy was driving southbound in the 15500 block of Pacific Ave S when a brand new, unlicensed Dodge Challenger Hellcat passed him in the opposite direction at over 100 miles per hour while weaving through traffic. The deputy turned around and attempted to catch up to the vehicle, which had to slow down for traffic at a stop light. The deputy got behind the car and activated his lights and siren. The car quickly accelerated, and after a few blocks, was travelling between 135 and 150 miles per hour. Even though the deputy believed the driver was impaired, the speeds were so dangerous that the deputy decided to terminate the pursuit to prevent others from getting hurt.

Vehicular Assault
112th St S & Steele St S, Parkland

Deputies were dispatched to a possible DUI collision with serious injuries. According to witnesses, the suspect ran a red light and struck a vehicle that was going through the intersection and then collided with a fence. Deputies observed signs of impairment and noticed a box of alcoholic beverages on the floorboard. The 25-year-old suspect was transported to the hospital for a blood draw and was uncooperative with our deputies and hospital staff. He was booked into jail for vehicular assault and obstructing.

Motor Vehicle Theft
15800 blk Pacific Ave S, Spanaway

Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle theft recovery at a shopping complex. The 911 caller said she had just located her 19-year-old son’s stolen vehicle in a parking lot. She said she had video of three males inside the car, including one of her son’s friends, who was armed with a handgun. When deputies arrived, the woman said her son’s friend broke into his house, stole the keys for his car and then drove away in his car. The victim’s mother showed deputies a video that the suspect posted on social media. It shows him sitting in the stolen car, smoking marijuana and pointing various handguns at the camera. Deputies located the suspect in a nearby store. He refused to identify himself, so deputies used a fingerprint scanner. The 16-year-old suspect has several felony convictions and had a felony warrant for two counts of robbery and one count of burglary. He was booked on his warrant and for theft of a motor vehicle and obstructing. Deputies found a spent shell casing in his pocket and live ammo in the car’s cup holder.

Aggravated Assault
9700 blk 120th St E, South Hill

Deputies were dispatched to an assault with a weapon at a residence. When they arrived, a woman told deputies that she saw her tenant (neighbor) standing on a ladder adjusting the security cameras on his house. The woman walked over to him and told him to stop. The tenant pepper sprayed her in the face. The woman’s young children ran over to their mom and the tenant pointed a gun at them. The 39-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into jail for three counts of assault in the first degree.
