A new Pierce County ordinance limits fireworks discharge to:
๐ July 4, 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. ๐
This applies to all areas of Unincorporated Pierce County. If you live within city limits, you can find those restrictions here: https://bit.ly/447cniO
Please keep in mind that fireworks can only be discharged on PRIVATE property with permission from the property owner. Fireworks CANNOT be discharged at county parks.
These fireworks are LEGAL to possess between June 28th and July 5th:
โ Novelties
โ Multi-Aerials
โ Smoke
โ Ground Spinners
โ Helicopter Parachutes
โ Sparklers/Morning Glory
โ Wheels
โ Reloadable Mortars (1 3/4″ or less)
โ Cones & Fountains
โ Roman Candles
These fireworks are ILLEGAL to possess outside of Tribal Lands:
โ Firecrackers
โ Bottle Rockets
โ Missiles & Rockets
These explosive devices are ILLEGAL to possess ANYWHERE:
โ M-80’s or Larger
โ Cherry Bombs
โ Tennis Ball Bombs
โ Pipe Bombs
โ Special, tampered, altered, or home-made fireworks
In an effort to free up 911 call-takers, residents who have a fireworks complaint are urged to use South Sound 911โs online reporting tool: https://bit.ly/4446p1Q
The complaints will be pushed out to deputies/officers on patrol.
