#1 Burglary Suspects Caught

On February 17th, around 2:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a burglary that had just occurred at a school located in the 16000 block of Canyon Rd E, after witnesses reported a truck had loaded large toolboxes and was driving away with all its lights blacked out. Deputies located the suspect truck at Golden Given and Aqueduct Rd and conducted a traffic stop. The 46-year-old driver was taken into custody, as well as a 35-year-old passenger. Deputies confirmed the four large toolboxes on the trailer had just been stolen from the school. The vehicle and trailer were impounded and taken for a search warrant. The two suspects were booked into jail for burglary in the 2nd degree.  

#2 Passed Out Driver Arrested for DUI

On February 14th, around 3:35pm, several callers reported a male was passed out in his truck and was blocking traffic at 128th St. E and Woodland Ave. When the deputy arrived, he could see an open container of alcohol in the center console. Multiple attempts to wake up the male were unsuccessful. The male was finally woken up and initially drove forward over the terminator stick the deputy placed under the back tire. The male then complied and followed commands to step out. The 39-year-old male was arrested for a DUI, and the truck was impounded and cleared from the road.  

#3 Vehicle Fatality Involving Stalled Driver This call occurred on February 15th around 1:30am, when a 67-year-old man had stepped out of his truck that had stalled at the 6000 block of 304th St E. Witnesses reported he was standing in the opposite lane of travel and was asking for jumper cables before being struck by oncoming traffic. The driver who had stuck the male victim remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. There were no signs of impairment, and no one was arrested. This is a tragic event, and the investigation is ongoing.
