On June 18th, at 09:04 am, deputies responded to a three car collision at 99th St S and A St S in Parkland.
One of the drivers had to be extricated out of their vehicle by Central Pierce Fire and Tacoma Fire. That driver unfortunately passed away at the hospital.
The other two drivers were also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Deputies spoke to witnesses who said there was a garbage truck picking up cans on the side of A Street. The black pickup truck went into oncoming lanes at a high speed, ran the stop sign and hit a tow truck, pushing it into the victim’s vehicle. That suspect will be facing charges of Vehicular Homicide for his reckless driving which caused a fatality.
At 11:39 am, deputies responded to a stabbing at 136th St E and Pacific Ave. They contacted the victim, a 38-year-old man, and witnesses who saw the man get stabbed before the suspect took off on foot.
Deputies were led to the 7-11 on 138th/Pacific Ave where the suspect had walked to. They detained the suspect and a witness was able to positively identify him as our suspect. The 32-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into the Pierce County Jail.
We now know, the suspect was urinating in a bottle when the victim pulled over, got out of his vehicle and pushed the suspect down. The stabbing victim was walking back to his vehicle when a 3rd party came over and got physical with the victim. At that point the suspect caught up to them and stabbed the victim. The victim went to his vehicle and grabbed a gun and then the suspect stabbed him again. The victim fled on foot and deputies contacted the suspect 2 blocks away.
