Busy Tuesday in Pierce County

SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

At 1:32 pm, on Tuesday September 17th, our deputies responded to a call of a shooting at 108th St S and Croft St S in Parkland. A car of people got into a verbal argument with someone on the street. They left in the car, came back and hit someone with the car on purpose. Someone on the street fired a gun at the car as it was leaving and hit a woman in the car.

She was transported to the hospital and was in stable condition. Victims were not very forthcoming and someone other than the shooter picked up shell casings and ran off.

Detectives responded to investigate.

DIVE CALLOUT

At 6:04 pm our Mountain Detachment Deputies were dispatched to a car fully submerged at the Tanwax Boat Launch.  It was unknown if the vehicle was occupied a Dive Team call out was authorized.  Divers responded and confirmed the vehicle appeared unoccupied, and was a stolen vehicle.  Divers tow the vehicle out.

SWAT CALLOUT

At 9:16pm, deputies responded to a SWAT call at the 17100 block of 116th St E in Puyallup. The suspect was violating a court order, had a felony warrant for his arrest and previously assaulted deputies. The suspect refused to come out so a warrant was obtained for the new crime and SWAT was called out to assist.

When SWAT arrived on scene they started making PA Announcements and Crisis Negotiators made contact with the 41-year-old man. He eventually was talked out of the house by our negotiators and surrendered to the SWAT Team.

The man was then booked into the Pierce County Jail for Violation of a No Contact Order and a felony warrant for Resisting Arrest, Violating a No Contact Order, DV Residential Burglary 1st Degree.
