Commercial Burglary
17500 blk Meridian E, South Hill

Deputies were dispatched to a commercial burglary in progress at a bank. A security monitoring company had called 911 to report that subjects were breaking into an ATM in the bank’s vestibule. When deputies arrived, they saw a blue tarp hanging over the bank’s front doors. Inside the vestibule, they saw a damaged ATM and a large pry bar. They also found a circular saw and small baggies containing suspected drugs. Deputies conducted an area check but did not find any suspects. It appears that the suspects hung up the blue tarp to prevent passersby from witnessing the burglary. Deputies collected the items the suspects left behind (evidence) and canvassed the shopping complex for surveillance video.
