Monday morning, at 11:45 a.m., Mountain Detachment deputies responded to a residence in the 22600 block of 82nd Ave E in Graham to arrest a 35-year-old male who had multiple warrants.
When they arrived, deputies found the suspect in the backyard. When he saw the deputies, he took off on foot, climbing over several fences. Deputies lost sight of him in a thickly-wooded greenbelt, so they set up a perimeter and waited for a K9 team.
When K9 Eddie arrived with his handler, they got to work and quickly started tracking the suspect. K9 Eddie located the suspect hiding in the woods and deputies took him into custody.
The suspect was transported to the hospital for medical treatment before being booked into jail for resisting arrest and for his warrants.
Prosecutors charged him with resisting arrest and obstructing, and his bail was set at $5,000.
He also has a pending case for burglary in the second degree. His bail was initially set at $20,000 for that case, but he failed to show up to court and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. At a hearing yesterday, bail was set at $40,000. Combining all pending cases, the defendant would need to post $62,500 bail in order to be released.
