At 6:39 am, on July 14th, Washington State Patrol Troopers and Pierce County Deputies responded to a traffic Hazard at 158th St E and B St E in Parkland. The suspect was described as having a long tail, was 2 1/2 feet tall, with big ears and tiny forearms.
WSP arrived and saw the suspect jumping in the roadway. They waited for backup before attempting to contact and detain him. Deputies helped setup containment as troopers and a couple of Parkland residents tried to wrangle this escaped marsupial. After several attempts, a Trooper was able to tackle the suspect and take it into custody.
No Deputies, Troopers, kangaroos or wallabies were hurt in today’s incident, but once again your deputies and troopers were able to stay one jump ahead of the suspect and take them into custody. Great Job Everyone!
