On February 23, around 2:00am, Pierce County residents woke up to a scare when a DUI driver crashed into their vehicle parked outside their home. This call takes a turn when the residents go to check on the driver, and the DUI driver flees and attempts to run them over! Deputies locate the vehicle on Pacific Ave. South heading northbound from 176th St. E. Even with a successful stop stick deployment that popped all four tires, the DUI driver continued to drive on the wheels. After two PIT attempts, a third attempt finally disabled the vehicle. Now that the vehicle was stopped, the driver refused to get out and was tased and pepper sprayed before being taken into custody. A second DUI shows us the dangers of drugs being used while driving. Please don’t drink or do drugs when driving! Come on Pierce County, we can do better!
