The cause of the fire is unknown, and the Pierce County Fire Marshall, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office detectives, and forensics responded to the scene. This investigation is ongoing.
Road Rage Shooting Ending in Collision
On March 31st, just past midnight at 12:17 am, deputies responded to the 4600 block of 205th St Ct E. regarding a vehicle vs. power pole. The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, claimed he was shot in a road rage event. The driver had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot injury to his leg. When the vehicle was examined, there were no bullet holes in the vehicle. The 33-year-old male driver was transported by Fire to a local hospital, and the suspicious circumstances around the shooting are being investigated.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery with Arrest
On March 30th, around 5:20pm, one of our deputies was patrolling the parking lot of Panda Express located at the 20300 block of Mountain Hwy E. when he observed a stolen Honda parked in the lot. The Honda was occupied by a female driver and male passenger, and they immediately appeared to not want to be there anymore when the deputy pulled in. The Honda attempted to leave, thinking maybe it hadn’t been seen, but the deputy was able to conduct a felony traffic stop at the stoplight.
A 20-year-old female and a 42-year-old male were taken into custody. The female was later booked into the Pierce County Jail for possession of stolen property and was provided a trespass notification for the Walmart complex. The male was released on the scene since he was only a passenger, and the vehicle was towed for safekeeping.
Have a great week and be safe Pierce County!
