#1 Saw Blade Assault Pursuit and Arrest
On July 17th at 11:33am, deputies responded to a domestic violence call at the 6500 block of 302nd St. Ct. S in Roy, where a mother called to report her adult daughter was completely naked and assaulted her with a hand saw. The daughter also took the mother’s phone to prevent her from calling 911. The mother fled the home and used a neighbor’s phone to call 911. While still naked, the daughter got into a pickup truck and attempted to run her mother and the neighbor assisting with the phone over. The daughter struck the mother and the family dog with the truck, missing the neighbor. Both victims reported she backed up like she was going to try to hit them again but then left the scene. After leaving the scene, she failed to yield to officers attempting to stop her, swerving and nearly striking a police officer who was trying to put stop sticks in the road to end the pursuit. The female was eventually stopped with a PIT maneuver to terminate the pursuit. During the PIT, a civilian vehicle was struck head-on with the police officer’s vehicle. A female civilian was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, and the police officer was transported for minor injuries. Both vehicles were totaled. The female suspect (who still remained nude) was taken into custody. The 46-year-old female was booked into the Pierce County Jail for multiple counts of assault in the first degree/DV, eluding, resisting arrest, and other outstanding warrants. The female suspect was evaluated for mental health supports.
#2 50K Vandalism and Burglary of Graham Home
On July 18th around 9:15pm, deputies were dispatched to a home listed for sale in the Graham area where 23 juveniles had broken in, vandalized the whole home, and were having a party. All 23 juveniles were detained and identified. This will be an ongoing investigation, and charges for felony burglary and malicious mischief will be forwarded to a juvenile prosecutor for review and charging for each of the juveniles. Over 50 thousand dollars in damages have been reported.
#3 Motorcycle VS Vehicle Collision with Fire
This last call occurred on July 19th at 2:32pm at 106th St S and 19th Ave Ct S when an unlicensed dirt-bike was traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed into a sedan that had the right-of-way and was making a turn. The motorcycle and vehicle it crashed into caught fire, and the male riding the dirt-bike also caught fire. Civilians used fire extinguishers to put out the fire, and the 38-year-old rider is suffering from grave injuries. The driver of the sedan was uninjured, and no charges or arrests were made.
