Yesterday evening, at 5:25 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in the intersection of 176th St E and 50th Ave E in Frederickson.
When deputies arrived, a passerby was providing first-aid to the motorcycle rider. When fire personnel arrived, they transported the 50-year-old rider to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He did not survive.
According to witnesses, the motorcycle was travelling eastbound on 176th St E at a high rate of speed and splitting lanes. He ran the red light at 50th Ave E and collided with the side of a vehicle that was making a left turn.
A records check revealed that the motorcycle had switched plates and it had been stolen from the Tacoma area.
