Fatal Motorcycle Crash and Shooting Overnight

At 5:43 pm, on Wednesday July 3rd deputies responded to a collision involving a single motorcycle at 65th Ave E near 200th St E.

The rider was going south on 65th at a high rate of speed and crashed off the roadway. Firefighters arrived on scene and pronounced the 30-year-old man as deceased. Deputies were advised the driver had been drinking and was not wearing a helmet. There were no witnesses to the collision.

The traffic unit was called out to document the scene.

Later in the night at 10:19 pm a man called 911 to say he had been shot at 102nd St S and Park Ave S. Bystanders saw the man and started to help administer aid and hold pressure on his wounds. Deputies arrived and utilized chest seals and tourniquets to further assist with medical aid. The man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Pierce County Detectives and Forensic Investigators were called to the scene and checked for evidence.

There were no witnesses to the shooting and detectives were unable to interview the victim. Dispatch was advised the shooting was over a road rage incident.
