Rocks for Brains

On June 25th around 2:00am, deputies responded to a homeless woman living in a trailer in the area of 152nd St. S and Pacific Ave. S. The victim reported a white SUV kept driving by, throwing rocks at her and her friend. When deputies were talking to the victim, they spotted the SUV as it came back around. They attempted a traffic stop, and the suspect vehicle shut off the headlights and attempted to elude them. The suspect vehicle fortunately drove down a dead-end road and got caught. Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop and took the 18-year-old male driver into custody, along with two 15-year-old male passengers and a 16-year-old male passenger. Large rocks described by the victim were found in the suspect vehicle. The victim was transported for a field show-up and confirmed the suspects were the ones throwing rocks at her. The 18-year-old driver was arrested for assault in the 2nd degree and felony eluding. He was booked into the Pierce County Jail while the three other juvenile suspects were released to parents.

This call is one of many we respond to. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you live; everyone has a right to be safe. Great job to these deputies with their professionalism and the capture of these juvenile suspects.
