Two Killed in House Fire

We had an unfortunate house fire that took the lives of a married couple on October 13th. The preliminary investigation does not show any suspicious activity in the deaths of this couple.

Just after 11:00 a.m., a passerby reported smoke and flames coming from a home in the 27600 block of Webster Road East in Graham. The passerby called 911 and attempted to knock on the door to make entry, but unfortunately, the smoke and fire were too intense. When Fire arrived, they were able to get to a male and female in their 70s inside the home, but sadly, they both passed at the scene. Pierce County Sheriff detectives and forensics are conducting the death investigation, and Central Pierce Fire and the Fire Marshal will be investigating the cause of the fire.

This incident is a somber reminder that colder weather is upon us, and people are getting heaters out and gearing up for the winter. Please be mindful to check your heat sources to ensure everything is working properly and make sure nothing is around them to catch fire.
