Over the Weekend 12-01-25

#1 Stolen Corvette

On November 29th, around 12:30 a.m., one of our graveyard deputies spotted a black sports car taking over the intersection of 112th St. S and Pacific Ave. S doing donuts. As the deputy approached the intersection, the vehicle took off. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to stop, and the deputy was unable to catch up to it. As the deputy used his radio to give directions of travel for the suspect car, a sergeant was able to pick up the pursuit and attempt to stop it. The sergeant also lost sight of it, but later learned a black Corvette was listed as stolen, and multiple other jurisdictions had similar encounters with the vehicle, but were never able to catch it.

About an hour later, another deputy spots a black Corvette in the area where they lost sight of it. This Corvette matched the description of the vehicle that eluded from the deputies earlier. When deputies investigated, they learned the Corvette was, in fact, stolen and was the same vehicle they had been chasing.  Deputies knocked on the door, and a male answered and claimed his friend had dropped the Corvette off earlier and did not know anything about it.  After further investigation, the deputies find the male suspect’s social media account with videos of him driving the stolen Corvette doing donuts and other reckless driving crimes. Deputies arrest the 21-year-old suspect for eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. The male also had warrants in another jurisdiction for reckless driving and unlawful exhibition of speed.

#2 DUI Suspect Arrested for Vehicular Homicide

This last call is a motor vehicle fatality that occurred in the 9000 block of Golden Given Rd E, and was caused by a suspected DUI driver. A 69-year-old woman was coming home from work and backing into her own driveway when she was T-boned by a 27-year-old male driver. The female was declared deceased on scene, and the causing suspected DUI driver was trapped inside his car with serious injuries. When the male recovers from his injuries, he will be booked into the Pierce County Jail for vehicular homicide and DUI.
