The Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force (PSATTF) is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement team dedicated to combating organized auto theft rings and prolific car thieves across King and Pierce counties in Washington. With July being National Vehicle Theft Prevention Month, we want to provide helpful tips that could save you from having your vehicle stolen and experiencing one of the worst days of your life. Always secure your keys. Since technology is going mostly digital, and if you have a push-to-start key, consider storing your keys in a Faraday pouch. The Faraday pouch prevents thieves from remotely stealing your car, and the pouch prevents unwanted outside transmissions.
We want to thank the Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority (WATPA), Snohomish County Auto Theft Task Force (SNOCAT), and the Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force for providing resources and focusing on preventing and recovering stolen vehicles to their rightful owners.
