Today at 1:41 pm, Detectives located the suspect wanted for the June 18th Homicide of a JBLM Soldier at a home in Parkland.
Detectives were able to identify the suspect and obtain a warrant for his arrest. Today the Pierce County SWAT Team were used to serve the arrest warrant at an apartment in the city of Tacoma. The Team surrounded the residence and called for the suspect to come out of the apartment on the loudspeaker. The suspect surrendered without any resistance.
The 37 year old male suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail for Murder in the 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the 2nd Degree.

At 6:04 pm, on Saturday June 18th, our dispatchers received a 911 call of a shooting at the 1600 block of 112th St S in Parkland. Deputies arrived on scene and found a male down inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound. Deputies administered first aid, but the man passed away.
An area check was done for the suspect, but he was not located. Detectives and forensic investigators arrived to check for evidence and talk to witnesses. Both the suspect and the victim were at the residence for a gathering and detectives are trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
The victim is a 25 year old male and was an active duty soldier at Joint Base Lewis McCord.
The investigation is ongoing.
