#1 Homicide at Wynstone Townhomes
On April 12, around 4:20am, deputies responded to the Wynstone Townhomes for reports of a male who had been shot. Deputies located a 37-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds inside a townhome. Life-saving measures were provided to the victim before Fire arrived. A male suspect had fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. Fire took over life-saving measures and later informed us the male victim had succumbed to his injuries. This is an isolated event that occurred between known parties. No suspect is in custody. All involved parties have been identified, and this is a very active investigation.
#2 Pedestrian Hit and Run
We need your help solving this next crime. On April 10th, around 10:15 p.m., a male had gotten out of a car to pick up sunglasses that he had accidentally dropped from the vehicle’s window. A newer dark colored pickup truck was traveling southbound on Canyon Rd E when it struck the male in the road. The vehicle paused but did not stop. The pickup truck continued to flee southbound on Canyon Rd E. Seconds later, a second vehicle hit the male lying in the road. The driver of the second vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative. The 32-year-old male remains in critical condition.
Anyone who may have surveillance video of the suspect truck traveling southbound on Canyon Rd. E between 72nd St. E and 116th St. E are encouraged to submit video evidence to our evidence.com portal.
#DUI Pursuit and Arrest
This last call occurred on April 12th, around 8:00pm, when a deputy observed a vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed at the 36200 block of Mountain Hwy E. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, and speeds exceeded 100 mph. The vehicle slipped off the roadway into a ditch at 288th St. E and Mountain Hwy. The 53-year-old male smelled heavily of intoxicants. He was arrested for DUI and Eluding.
