12/11/25 around 4:00pm Key Peninsula Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of East Herron Boulevard NW, on Herron Island, for a welfare check on a man and woman who had not been seen and had not shown up for work. When deputies arrived, they located a 64-year-old-female and a 39-year-old male deceased inside the home with what appears to be knife wounds. Detectives and forensics worked quickly to identify the suspect and establish probable cause.
12/12/25 around 12:30am The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate the double homicide suspect from last night’s Herron Island incident (12/11/25). The 64–year–old male was located in a motel in Kent and was noncompliant. SWAT was called to the scene and eventually made entry to the suspect’s room and located him with a self-inflicted wound. He is in custody at a local hospital in serious condition.
