Over the Weekend 3-23-26

#1 DUI Driver Flips Pickup Truck

We had several DUI arrests over the weekend, but this one caused a lot of damage to a business complex, and we are fortunate that no one was hurt. On March 19th, just after 4:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to a truck crashing into a fence and sign as it made a left turn at the 15400 block of Pacific Ave. S. Deputies could see several open containers of alcohol inside the cab of the truck, and the driver smelled of intoxicants. The 50-year-old male was arrested for DUI.

#2 Stolen Pickup Truck Arrest

On March 22nd, around 11:50 pm, deputies spotted a stolen F250 and attempted a traffic stop on eastbound State Route 512 near Canyon Rd. A short pursuit led the suspects to take the 94th Ave. E exit and ended up driving into a business parking lot and sliding down a steep hill, where the vehicle was disabled. The 25-year-old male driver was booked into the Pierce County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding. The 19-year-old passenger was released from the scene after no probable cause could be established for his arrest.
