Shooting Investigation – Suspects Outstanding 

We recently had a shooting on May 13th and the victim is alive due to the quick actions of a bystander and a deputy.  

On May 13th around 5:15pm, our Mountain Detachment deputies responded to reports of a male who had been shot in the 25400 block of 35th Ave. E in Spanaway. When the first deputy arrived, a bystander had used his belt as a tourniquet to help stop the bleeding. The deputy immediately goes into action providing life saving care.  

It was learned a red vehicle had pulled up and the male was shot before the suspects fled in the vehicle.  

The 19-year-old male was transported in serious condition.  

A short time later, dispatch informed the deputies a vehicle matching the suspect car that fled the scene was reported on fire a few miles away at Weiler Rd E and 49th Ave. E. The nearby residents had already put the fire out.  

The vehicle was listed as a recent stolen vehicle.
