RIDE ALONG with Deputy Sergio Sanchez

Join Deputy Sergio Sanchez as he takes us around Pierce County for a fast-paced day of answering 911 calls and serving the community.

The shift starts with a strong-arm robbery investigation before heading straight to a loitering complaint involving transients. Between calls, Deputy Sanchez gives us a look at the lifesaving medical equipment he carries and shares how those tools have helped save lives in critical moments.

The day doesn’t slow down for long. While handling a motor vehicle collision, Sanchez is redirected to a domestic violence protection order violation in progress. Along the way, he discusses the very real dangers deputies face when responding to domestic violence incidents and shares experiences from past calls. When that call is completed, another urgent dispatch comes in, this time it’s a suspected overdose involving a mother with children inside the home. The shift concludes with yet another domestic violence call and the often-overlooked reality of police work: paperwork.

This ride along offers an unfiltered look at the unpredictable nature of patrol and the wide variety of calls deputies handle every day to keep our communities safe.
