#1 Stabbing in Parkland/Spanaway

On August 1st around 6:15 pm, deputies responded to a stabbing in Spanaway located in the 16300 block of 9th Ave. E. When deputies arrived, they located a 48-year-old female with multiple stab wounds. The 48-year-old male suspect remained on scene and was taken into custody. The female was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It turned out there was a domestic violence no-contact order in place, and the male was arrested for assault in the 2nd degree and felony domestic violence order violations x 3.

#2 Stabbing Homicide in Bonney Lake

On August 3rd at 2:21 am, deputies responded to another stabbing, but sadly this 37-year-old male victim did not survive. After stabbing the victim multiple times, the 35-year-old suspect barricaded himself in his home, and a 4-hour SWAT standoff took place. After several rounds of chemical agents were deployed into the home and negotiators attempted to talk with the suspect, the suspect came out peacefully. We know both men lived on the property, but the motive behind the stabbing is under investigation. The male was booked into the Pierce County Jail for murder.  

#3 Motorcycle Collision Fatality in Graham

On August 1st at 9:46 pm, deputies responded to 304th St. E and 74th Ave. E in Graham, for a motor vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck and motorcycle. When deputies arrived, the driver of the motorcycle was unresponsive. CPR was administered and life-saving efforts were made by Fire, but the 36-year-old male was pronounced deceased. Deputies learned the motorcycle rider was heading westbound on 304th St. E when the driver of the pick-up truck made a left-hand turn, not seeing the motorcycle. The 68-year-old driver of the pick-up truck remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. There were no signs of impairment and no arrest was made. This remains an active investigation.
