#1 Chainsaw Thrown at Deputies During Pursuit

On April 19th, around 11:50pm, a caller reported her vehicle had just been stolen from an apartment complex in the Parkland area. Minutes later, our K9 deputy reported he spotted the vehicle attempting to leave the area. An attempted traffic stop led to a pursuit. There were two male suspects in the vehicle, and they ended up getting onto the Interstate Highway I-5 South. Things get a little interesting from here when the passenger decides to throw out a chainsaw and other rope-type items out the passenger window in an attempt to disable or crash the police vehicles behind them. The suspects exit off I-5 towards the JBLM Logistics Gate. The vehicle gets stuck, and both suspects flee from the truck on foot. Containment was established, and a K9 track was started. A 31-year-old male suspect was located by the K9 and identified as the passenger in the truck. The passenger was taken to a local hospital for the dog bite, and he will later be charged with possessing motor vehicle theft tools, eluding, and assault 1st degree towards the deputies due to throwing the chainsaw and ropes gear out the window to potentially disable or crash the deputies’ vehicles. Shortly later, the 28-year-old driver was located by JBLM’s military police.  He was booked for felony eluding and theft of a motor vehicle.

#2 Head-On Collision with Long Road Closure

On April 19th, around 2:45pm, deputies responded to a head-on collision with one vehicle on fire at 176th St. E and 38th Ave. E. Fortunately, all occupants were able to get out safely, and the fire was put out by Central Pierce Fire and Rescue. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals with unknown injuries. The intersection was closed down for a long period of time while sand trucks had to come and make the roads safe from all the spilled gas and fluids.

#3 Package Thief – Do You Recognize This Suspect?

It really sucks when you order special parts for your lawnmower so you can start your Spring mowing, but a package thief steals your delivery shortly after it was placed on your porch. Call our office if you recognize this suspect. The event occurred on April 7th around 6pm in the Graham area.
